Privacy Notice

This is the personal portfolio website of Mert Can Çağlayan. This notice explains what personal data is processed when you visit it or contact me, in line with Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and, where it applies, the EU/UK GDPR.

1. Who is responsible

2. What this website does and does not do

  • It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
  • The website itself does not set cookies or store information in your browser.
  • It has no forms, accounts, comments or newsletter.
  • It does not embed third-party content such as videos, maps or social feeds.
  • It does load fonts (Google Fonts) and icons (Font Awesome via cdnjs) from third-party servers. See section 3(d).

3. Data that is processed

a) Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (United States). Like any web host, Netlify automatically records technical data about each request, such as your IP address, the page requested, date and time, and browser/device information. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Netlify keeps these logs for a limited period under its own policies. I do not have a way to switch this logging off, and I do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f); GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

b) Emails you send me

If you email me, I receive your email address, name (if shown) and the content of your message. I use it only to read and reply to you. Your message is processed in my email account (Gmail, provided by Google). I keep it only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and you may ask me to delete it at any time.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f); GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), and, where you ask about work, taking steps at your request before a possible agreement.

c) The “Copy email” button

This button only copies my email address to your device's clipboard. Nothing is sent anywhere.

d) Fonts and icons loaded from third parties

To display the site's typography and icons, your browser loads files from Google Fonts (Google) and from cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc., which serves the Font Awesome icon library) when you open a page. As a result, your IP address, browser and device information, and the address of the page you are visiting are sent directly from your browser to these providers' servers, which may be located outside Turkey. This happens automatically when the page loads.

I do not receive this data and I do not use these services for analytics or advertising. How the providers handle it is described in their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in displaying the website correctly and consistently (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f); GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). If you do not want these requests to be made, you can block them with your browser or a content blocker; the site will still be readable with default fonts and without icons.

4. Who receives data

  • Netlify, Inc. — website hosting.
  • Google — Google Fonts (font files) and Gmail (emails you send me).
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — cdnjs (icon library files).

I do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising. These providers are located outside Turkey, so data may be transferred abroad as part of hosting, font/icon delivery and email services.

5. Links to other websites

This site links to my GitHub, LinkedIn and Instagram profiles and to demos and repositories of my projects, which are hosted by other services (for example Netlify, Vercel, Render, GitHub Pages). Once you click a link, that website's own privacy policy applies. Those projects are separate from this site.

6. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 and, where applicable, the GDPR, you may ask me whether your data is processed, request information about it, ask for correction or deletion, object to processing, and ask about transfers to third parties. Email me at the address above. For data processed by Netlify, Google or Cloudflare, you can also contact those providers. You may also complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK, kvkk.gov.tr) or, if you are in the EU/UK, your local data protection authority.

7. Changes

If this website changes in a way that affects your data (for example if analytics or a contact form is added), I will update this notice and the date above.

Bu web sitesi Mert Can Çağlayan'ın kişisel portfolyo sitesidir. Bu metin, siteyi ziyaret ettiğinizde veya benimle iletişime geçtiğinizde hangi kişisel verilerin işlendiğini, 6698 sayılı Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu (KVKK) madde 10 uyarınca ve uygulanabildiği ölçüde AB/Birleşik Krallık GDPR'ı kapsamında açıklar.

2. Bu web sitesinin yaptıkları ve yapmadıkları

  • Analitik, reklam veya izleme araçları kullanılmaz.
  • Web sitesinin kendisi çerez kullanmaz ve tarayıcınızda bilgi saklamaz.
  • Form, üyelik, yorum veya bülten yoktur.
  • Video, harita veya sosyal medya akışı gibi üçüncü taraf içerikler gömülü değildir.
  • Yazı tipleri (Google Fonts) ve simgeler (cdnjs üzerinden Font Awesome) üçüncü taraf sunuculardan yüklenir. Bkz. bölüm 3(d).

3. İşlenen veriler

a) Barındırma ve sunucu kayıtları

Site, Netlify, Inc. (ABD) tarafından barındırılmaktadır. Her web barındırma hizmetinde olduğu gibi Netlify, her istek için IP adresiniz, istenen sayfa, tarih ve saat ile tarayıcı/cihaz bilgileri gibi teknik verileri otomatik olarak kaydeder. Bu veriler siteyi sunmak, güvenliğini sağlamak ve kötüye kullanımı önlemek için kullanılır. Netlify bu kayıtları kendi politikaları kapsamında sınırlı bir süre saklar. Bu kayıtları kapatma imkânım yoktur ve tek tek ziyaretçileri tanımlamak için kullanmam.

b) Bana gönderdiğiniz e-postalar

Bana e-posta gönderirseniz e-posta adresinizi, (görünüyorsa) adınızı ve mesajınızın içeriğini alırım. Bu bilgileri yalnızca mesajınızı okumak ve yanıtlamak için kullanırım. Mesajınız e-posta hesabımda (Google tarafından sağlanan Gmail) işlenir. Talebinizi ve olası devam yazışmalarını yürütmek için gerekli olduğu süre boyunca saklarım; dilediğiniz zaman silinmesini isteyebilirsiniz.

Hukuki sebep: bana ulaşan kişilere yanıt vermeye yönelik meşru menfaat (KVKK m. 5/2-f; GDPR m. 6/1-f) ve iş talebiniz olması hâlinde olası bir sözleşme öncesinde talebiniz üzerine adım atılması.

c) “Copy email” (E-postayı kopyala) düğmesi

Bu düğme yalnızca e-posta adresimi cihazınızın panosuna kopyalar. Hiçbir yere veri gönderilmez.

d) Üçüncü taraflardan yüklenen yazı tipleri ve simgeler

Sitenin yazı tiplerini ve simgelerini göstermek için tarayıcınız, bir sayfayı açtığınızda Google Fonts (Google) ve cdnjs (Font Awesome simge kütüphanesini sunan Cloudflare, Inc.) üzerinden dosya yükler. Bunun sonucunda IP adresiniz, tarayıcı ve cihaz bilgileriniz ile ziyaret ettiğiniz sayfanın adresi, tarayıcınızdan doğrudan bu sağlayıcıların sunucularına iletilir; bu sunucular Türkiye dışında olabilir. Bu işlem sayfa yüklenirken otomatik olarak gerçekleşir.

Bu verileri ben almam ve bu hizmetleri analitik veya reklam amacıyla kullanmam. Sağlayıcıların bu verileri nasıl işlediği kendi politikalarında açıklanmıştır: Google Gizlilik Politikası ve Cloudflare Gizlilik Politikası.

Hukuki sebep: web sitesini doğru ve tutarlı biçimde göstermeye yönelik meşru menfaat (KVKK m. 5/2-f; GDPR m. 6/1-f). Bu isteklerin yapılmasını istemiyorsanız tarayıcınız veya bir içerik engelleyici ile engelleyebilirsiniz; site varsayılan yazı tipleriyle ve simgeler olmadan okunabilir kalır.

4. Verilerin aktarıldığı taraflar

  • Netlify, Inc. — web sitesi barındırma.
  • Google — Google Fonts (yazı tipi dosyaları) ve Gmail (bana gönderdiğiniz e-postalar).
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — cdnjs (simge kütüphanesi dosyaları).

Verilerinizi satmam ve reklam amacıyla paylaşmam. Bu sağlayıcılar Türkiye dışında bulunduğundan, barındırma, yazı tipi/simge sunumu ve e-posta hizmetleri kapsamında veriler yurt dışına aktarılabilir.

5. Diğer sitelere bağlantılar

Bu site; GitHub, LinkedIn ve Instagram profillerime ve başka hizmetlerde (örneğin Netlify, Vercel, Render, GitHub Pages) barındırılan proje demolarına ve depolarına bağlantılar içerir. Bir bağlantıya tıkladığınızda ilgili sitenin kendi gizlilik politikası geçerlidir. Bu projeler bu siteden ayrıdır.

6. Haklarınız

KVKK madde 11 ve uygulanabildiği ölçüde GDPR uyarınca; verilerinizin işlenip işlenmediğini öğrenme, bilgi talep etme, düzeltme veya silme isteme, işlemeye itiraz etme ve verilerin aktarıldığı üçüncü kişileri öğrenme haklarına sahipsiniz. Yukarıdaki adrese e-posta gönderebilirsiniz. Netlify, Google veya Cloudflare tarafından işlenen veriler için bu sağlayıcılarla da iletişime geçebilirsiniz. Ayrıca Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu'na (kvkk.gov.tr) veya AB/Birleşik Krallık'taysanız yerel veri koruma otoritenize şikâyette bulunabilirsiniz.

7. Değişiklikler

Web sitesinde verilerinizi etkileyecek bir değişiklik olursa (örneğin analitik veya iletişim formu eklenirse) bu metni ve yukarıdaki tarihi güncelleyeceğim.
